Does anyone know where I could find a crepidium mieczyskawi. A google search does not pull up anything! I saw the plant in Steven A. Frowine's book "Miniature Orchids." It is also known as Malaxis species. Frowine's description is as follows: Foliage is as handsome as its flower, lime green and heavily speckled and blotched with purple. The genus comprises more than 250 species. This species is rate in cultivation but with worth seeking out. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I wish I has a picture to post!

I'll second that! I have Frowine's book and fell in love with this double-duty jewel. I just love the color combo and the unique flowers.

Good luck Pinkie! Hope you find it!

Both Andy's Orchids in California and J & L Orchids in Connecticut had plants from the original importation years back. You might also want to sk the about similar speces of Malaxis and not get attached to the one species name. This is a group where substitutions are acceptable if not interchangeable.

Hope that helps, Eric

Thanks Eric! That is great information. I am going to contact J &L Orchids to see if they have any ideas. They were so helpful with my last purchases! I will keep you "in the know" with any updates on my search!
