Default Miniatures from Andy's Orchids - pic heavy

Just got my box today from Andy's Orchids. I have to say, I got some nice miniatures for my vivariums.

Boys at Andy's Orchids were very helpful and the pacakge came in immaculately packed. Flash was a bit strong and I didn't feel like playing with the settings so the pics are a bit over exposed, but you'll get the idea of what I got.

Lepanthes manabina from Colombia

Stelis specie mini from Brazil

Stelis specie mini from Brazil nice & bushy from the side

Pleurothallis ornata (schiedei) from Mexico

Masdevallia floribunda from Mexico

Stelis ciliolata from Ecuador

Goodyera daibuzanensis

Barbosella handroi from Brazil

Haraella odorata from Taiwan

Dendrobium aberrans from Papua New Guinea

Appendicula elegans from Java

Epidendrum (Nanodes) porpax from Columbia

Anoectochilus chapaensis from Vietnam

Dracula lotax from Ecuador

Encyclia garciana from Venezuela

Marty that is incredible - how did you manage with our -20 weather? I have been yearning to order from Andy's for a long time, but figured the shipping + CITES + phyto would throw the prices through the roof. How'd you find the paperwork?

I shipped to Detroit and drove it across myself. Told the customs I had a couple of miniature orchids with no soil. They wavem me through - I was a happy camper

They fedexed it to me overnight and held it at depot...it was well packed and they put 2 heating packs, came in nice and toasty.

That's great to hear. Did you get them sent to a PO box? I'm considering doing the same thing at the Buffalo border, but I feel like the customs people are variable ie some will let you go and some won't. Good to hear you weren't hassled at all.

It's been my experience that going from the U.S. to Canada is fairly easy and hassle-free. Going the other way is the problem.

Great haul Marty! I'd be in debt if I frequented sites like Andy's.

I may be a little prejudiced in this, but the Goodyera is my favorite. We have a native species in Washington, and unlike orchids grown for their flowers, these hardy jewels can give most of the tropical jewels a run for their money! I love having my own little patches of wild jewels just outside my door!

Amazing...the plants look like they've been in there for all their lives! Those tanks look awesome and I too am curious whether you made/bought them.

That is definitely good to know. Anyone know how to go about getting a PO box that won't freeze over while I drive my way across the border?

What a feeling it must have been, opening the carton filled with these. You are going to post pics when you get them set up, aren't you? Love that aberrans....just got one also!

Enjoy and looking forward to seeing them in their home!
