I am suprise to see all the implements and the artificial mist to mimic the natural environment in which they grow. This is the time of the year in which they bloom on the trees. There is a place near Caracas where you can see them, actualy the term tovarensis comes from a place in the mountains where a German Colony settled down during the late 1800 beggining 1900 and was called at that time Colonia Tovar (Tovar Colony). These plants comes from a relatively high altitude mountains (6000 feet), like cold and humids nigths (temperatures around 5°C and the trees are most of the times under the clouds). Thatīs why is important to have them under mist several times of the day. Congratulations for such a nice specimen.

There's a guy at my orchid society who has a few Masd. tovarensis for sale, and I've been a bit hesitant to pick one up... Now, I've made up my mind; I've got to have one! Thanks Tindo!
