Default Masdevallia burfordiense

Hi all,

This one was given to me today. It's been growing warm to cool (depending on seasons) outside in a shade house.

It had 3 flowers when I was given it (took one off that was starting to fade) and has 2 buds that should bloom early in the new year.

I'm very happy!!!!!!

I believe the label may be wrong.

Should be burfordensis.

Interesting flowers. From the shape they look like they should be one of the 'stinky' ones. Have you smelled them? Good purchase!

Just gave them a sniff and the smell is subtle but a little 'sour' if I can describe it that way.

I wasn't expecting any scent at all but they do smell a little off.........;-)

Default Fragrant Masdevallias

Ah yes Stinky Masdevallias what fun. The dead animal with a dash of feces are.. angulata, bonplandii, velifera, picea. My all time favorite is the straight unadulterated fresh Doggy Poo smell of Masdevallia caesia. A beautiful flower on a strange plant that makes my customers take a closer look and than they check the bottom of their shoes to see what the devil they stepped in.
