Did he say why? Was he out of plants? We'll still be there Sue. Wouldn't miss a great get together with OB friends.

Okay, now that I gave Ross's heart a jump-start, I can post the rest of the delivery!
The plants from Ivan Komoda are, as usual, OUTSTANDING! I'm thinking I might place another order before his inventory is gone
The order was this:
Ross: Masd Angel Tang (in bud), Masd Redwing 'Rolfe' HCC/AOS (in bud) x princeps 'Makawao' and Masd princeps 'Select' x princeps 'B'
Laura: Masd herradurae, Masd princeps 'Select' x princeps 'B'
Me: Masd herradurae, Masd amazulae (in bud), Masd Maui Prince (in bloom)
Laura and I are also sharing a compot of Masd amplexa x calura. The compot has one bud almost ready to bloom and another bud in it's early stages. When we split the pot, Laura will get the one closest to blooming

Sue, you'll love the Maui Prince. It's a beautiful color and just keeps giving. Now keep in mind my house right now fluxuates between 62 at night and 67 during day (sometimes higher if sun shines.) This is ideal for Masdies and you might have different mileage from yours. I truly like the plants Ivan supplies and am as much in shock as others that he feels the need to switch gears. I don't know of any other source of dependable Masdies that tolerate warmer environments. I'm sure that's paramount to you. I can always move stuff to a basement to get temperature relief if necessary, but in FLAUSA that's a bit harder, I imagine. When we get down there let's discuss a concept called Peltier coolers http://www.tetech.com/?gclid=CKDYvPyO_ZcCFRHxDAodeWEeDg which work extremely well to cool a small environment. Not the same as a refrig but same result. Much cheaper. My cigar humidor (I know, yuck!) uses one and it keeps temps down to below 70 degrees in hot Michigan summers The concept is that the device would cool an insulated tank a certain amount of degrees below the ambient temps. So if you have constant 90 degree days, then the tank temp would be higher than if the days were, say, 80. Mine is controlled with a special controller, so it doesn't run if temps are outside the range I have set. I haven't felt the need to do this with orchids, but my cigars are worth 10X what the orchids are, so go figure! See ya in the spring (whenever that gets here )

Interesting concept
I keep all the Masdies in my Exo-Terra...which is suddenly getting kind of crowded The temps in there are at around 70 during the day and drops 3 or 4 degrees at night.
The larger tank may get some of the Masdie overflow form the small one That tank gets to about 74-75 during the day and drops to about 68 at night.
I try to keep in mind that these are just "warmth-tolerant" not warm-growers"
That being said...Laura has all hers outdoors, year round with bright light so...go figure!

I'm putting together my order. I'm for sure getting Masd. Redwing 'Rolfe' x princeps, Masd. Maui Holiday, and Masd. Maui Prince. I just need to find out if he still has Masd. princeps x sib.
Sue the plants look awesome! Is that Maui Prince in your avatar?
Thanks for the heads up Ross!
I meant to say that Ivan told me he will continue to stock Masdies, just not as many or as much variety as in the past.

Yes it is
I hated to change my C Chocolate Drop but this buy is too amazing to not show it off (not that I had anything to do with it's blooming)
Ivan also told Dana that he's not totally discontinuing them but there won't be as many
