Now that I can grow Masdies I really need to look at adding this to my collection again
I agree with something said on a thread that I can't find - that even so-called intermediate and warm growing Masdevallias need to be grown on the cooler end of intermediate and warm. They are at best somewaht tolerant of warmer temperatures.

Ron, I think that was a comment from Ross, one of the things that he learned in 2008... that thread.

This one of yours is really gorgeous! I love the strong colour. It takes some getting used to the tubular ones, but they grow on your after a while, Sue!!

wow, that's a very nice masdevallia...

Sue, I understand what you mean with the tubular Masdies, but they can really be amazing...

have a look on this one, to see how a tubular one can also scream "Hey! Look at me!!!" IOSPE PHOTOS

or just go through the Orchid Digest Vol. 72-4... there is a picture of Masd. mendozae on p. 242, which is amazing, also Masd limax on p. 238 (this really look like a slug, and that's the meaning of the name), or Masd. notosiberica (Pinup on page 230-231)...
