Default Myoxanthus octomorioides

I have 3 photos of a recently flowered Myoxanthus (which I have had for years and flowered regularly), anyway the first photo is normal, but the next 2 are me trying my new microscope camera. I can tell that I need more practice with this bugger as you have to hold your hand real still to get a focus.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing another unusual specimen with us. I am not familiar with this genus, let alone the particular plant within the group. I would love to see a clearer close-up if you can get one.

I've found that if I don't employ a tripod when using my macro lens, I can never get a clear shot.

The problem with the tripod idea is that I used a sharper image Microscope camera at the lowest power. I will have to build my own tripod for it as it is quite small.

What do you do for culture with this one? I've had one for a few years, it's did nothing for 2 years, then put out a couple new leaves this fall, and now has lost 2 of the old ones. Any ideas? If you have any divisions of this, I'd love to get a second plant as a backup; I'd hate to lose this from my collection.

This is a pretty old thread. David hasn't posted here in quite some time. I see him on occasion and will ask him about the culture on this plant.
BTW I believe the plant in the pictures is in my collection now!

Yeah, a lot of the species I have don't get posted on very often. Also congrats on the plant! Anytime I see something I want I always ask about a division; I've gotten some rare stuff that way.

From what I've read this plant likes it warm/hot and grows at the lower elevations. It really isn't something that I've paid much attention to. In fact, my conditions in the greenhouse are all wrong for this plant. I have mostly cool/shady growers. I think I should probably change the medium I have it presently growing in and move it into the warmer setup inside the house.
Thanks for bringing this little plant to my attention!
