Hey Masda, I hope you guys export them to Oz. I will be interested in seeing the new hybrids. I love these guys despite the frustrations of Australian Summers. (i bring mine inside the house on hot days).

Yes it's a cool grower, I let it stay outside up to about 30C which some might say is too hot. It does fine though.

Having lived in Melbourne and visited several shows there ,Collectors Corner etc, You must be able to get them, Melbourne has about the same climate as New Plymouth and I would think that Masdas would thrive. Nice place Geelong, Ever thought about having a holiday over the ditch. Check out Wolfe orchids.

Melbourne would be much hotter than New Plymouth in summer but similar for the rest of the year.

I've considered visiting there (and have passed through NZ twice) but not sure when I can get there. Maybe in a few years or so.

The first orchid show of the year takes place in New Plymouth this weekend, should be lots of Masdavellias on show,I have a firstbloomer to show it's awarded one grown by Paradise Orchids in Tauranga, Its similar to your one but more violet in colour, will post photo soon after the show, been to busy lately to tend my orchids except to water them, painting the bloody house. Cheers

Yeah this one is very nice, it's a division of a wonderful awarded plant. Excellent colour and shape and I hope to keep it for a long time.
