Dryadella zebrina (????)
I bought this young plant (close to blooming size) a couple of months ago and was labelled as Dryadella zebrina. This one, together with Dryadella edwalli and Dryadella lilliputiana ( ) are my first plants of this genus, so I am still learning...
Today it has opened its first flower (a second one is on its way). Even though I really like the plant and the bloom, I am wondering whether this plant had been wronly labeled.
Dryadella zebrina is supposed to have the dorsal sepal barred like a zebra, which is not exactly the case in my plant. Having a closer look at the labellum, it looks quite different to the one of Dryadella zebrina in IOSPE PHOTOS and Pleurothallids.com Dryadella zebrina , Furthermore, it reall ylooks different to any Dryadella labellum I have seen in the pictures found in both websites and also in google.
Does any of you could provide any hint to the correct identification of this plant?
The plant is 10 cm (3.9") tall and the flower is 2 cm (0.75")

Ramón,
I don't think I can be of much help, but I can sympathise with you... I struggled with ID on my Dryadellas - they are such variable species!
See the discussion when my Dryadella hirtzii flowered: http://www.orchidboard.com/community...as-opened.html

My Dryadella . . . Zebrina ?
Here are a couple of pictures of mine. It has bloomed a few times, but is not in bloom right now.
I got it from Andy's, and they are very good with their I.D. and labelling, so I think this is really it, but it is a difficult one. Many similar Dryadella species.
I don't have measurements, but one of the pictures shows it in my hand (my hands are not particularly large) to give an idea of size. The other picture shows the bloom better.

Oh yes, you need to get some of them... they are gorgeous and not difficult to keep...
My liliputiana died because it came quite dehydrated from the nursery The two others I bought them in Switzerland, from a very good nursery, and they are also very good with the IDs. I sent them the pictures today, let's see what they reply...

my plants grow in spahg. Humid but not very wet, and sprayed 4 times a day. Temp: intermediate to warm, I would say, and quite shaded. They seem to like it

Hi Mauro, I also have Dryadela edwallii and both plants look quite different (of course, now I think I need to wait for itto bloom ). I have checked several pictures and sources, but without much success. There is apparently a great variability within each species... Many characters of my plant match with the description of zebrina, but the form of the labellum (but it does not match with any other description I have seen) and possibly the colour of the flower which is not very ochre yellow but more creamy white...
Edwallii, on its side, seems to have more larger tails in the sepals than my my plant, and the labellum is not supposed to be dark coloured (although, I have found pictures of plants with dark labellum). Dark labellum is a characteristic shared with Dryadella simula, which seems to be a very similar especies to Dryadella zebrina...
I have attached two links I found interesting. One with some descrptions and the other with different pictures:
