Masd. brachyura x Masd. xanthina Photo
Recent re-bloomer. This guy just doesn't want to quit - two more on the way! I was worried when I bought the plant because of black spots on the leaves, but newest leaves are green and shiny - maybe previously poor culture? Anyway, this one smells spicy, like pepper, hard to describe. I can smell it, but my husband can't.

Wow, very nice. I really like the color. And fragrance to boot! Nice.

Now thats the kind I want! is it a warm grower?. The black spots can be from water sitting on the leaves too long, my Masd. 'kinglet' does that too.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I grow Cool-Intermediate.
This masd. is in a 2" plastic pot with sphagnum, and the plant is about 2.5" tall. It likes my east window - I'm in WA state on the Long Beach Peninsula - humidity is a pretty steady 60% in the house. My masds. seem to really like this climate.

BTW, yes that is a blue, plastic heart-shaped cocktail toothpick propping up the bloom. Hee, hee.
