Lepanthes Calodictyon going a little limp
Default Lepanthes Calodictyon going a little limp

I deconstructed my orchid terrarium as it was incredibly high maintenance, and recreated something smaller and more manageable. For most of the orchids it has been a huge success, and I've seen improvement already (the last one was too wet I think).

However, probably my favourite orchid I have, my Lepanthes Calodictyon is not doing as well. It has dropped 2 leaves so far and looks like another will go soon. It's weird because the other 2 lepanthes in there are doing great, my Pillosella and Coral Butterfly hybrid. The roots of it seem ok, I've attached a picture. They're planted in perlite and coco coir, using only rainwater, nothing else. I really don't want to lose this orchid as it was hard enough to find, and fairly pricey to buy. Previously it was put into a rock with a hole in it and moss wicked the water up, and it was doing OK and had a new leaf coming through, but the new leaf has now blasted. The temp is fairly cool with a small fan giving air flow. It is the youngest of the plants in there and wonder if the readjustment has just shocked it badly after being moved into the terrarium maybe 4 months ago, and now it has been moved again a week ago.

Not clear - when was the last root disturbance? When was it moved to the cooler terrarium?

It tolerates warm temperatures. Maybe try that? And you do need to fertilize.

It was moved last week, the temps are about the same. I fertilised maybe weakly about 6 weeks ago.
