I just received an Ecuagenera order. It left Florida March 11 via UPS and arrived here today while I was home. Most of the plants appear to be in very good shape.

I ordered three Masdevallias:
PRH9754 Masdevallia Denis Roessiger x Masd. Falcata;
PRH6391 Masdevallia Susy de Bermeo and
PRH9190 Masdevallia Sol del Medio Dia.

The first two look fine. When I picked up the third package all the leaves fell out of the bag.

It still has two leaves attached firmly. I already have a message out to Ecuagenera. I am a beginner with Masdevallias. A Masdie that arrived bare-root in November is doing well in my sunroom. My first instinct is to treat all three of these like the previous one: Soak in Kelpmax and Inocucor with a little sugar, pot in sphagnum in a clay pot, and put in a cool shady spot in my sunroom.

I would put this one inside a large jar for extra humidity. Does this seem reasonable?

From my experience, it is a gone-er

Once they start to drop those leaves it is done.

I would try the jar method but my mas zhalbrukeri just dropped all its leaves after two weeks in my cloche. The speklina right next to it has seven spikes. Go figure

A few months ago I noticed scales on my Dracula; thoroughly cleaned, treated, and repoted it in a mix of lava rocks and live Sphagnum.

After the operation it lost all leaves but 3, and now it's sprouting tons of new growths.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but it seems that if the root system is fine, the plant doesn't care much about leaves.

Masdi's can be tough to rehab, they take a long time to recover. If it still has leaves, though, high humidity, cool temps and good water with low light (typical growing conditions) it might recover. As long as it doesn't drop those two leaves it might be alright. I have a picturata that dropped all but 3 when it arrived, that was 2 months ago. Its just starting to show its first new leaf now. No harm in trying to recover it.
