Platystele stenostycha
Hello all,
I have taken some pics of this orchid that I recieved from Andy's orchids in December of '06. In that time I decided to grow it in my vivarium that houses dart frogs. The plant has grown well and has never stopped blooming. Although the blooms are tiny, they are numerous. I think it would be even more floriferous if I fed it.
The 6th pic is old for size comparison of the plant.
Im sorry for the bad pics of the blooms, but it is imposible for me to get a clear image of these flowers which are slightly larger than a pin head.

Totally cool vivarium! It's gorgeous. And you've got poison dart frogs! Do they require special conditions? That orchid is just a ball of happy - it definitely likes what you're doing. Keep it up!

Hi,
The frogs like the same conditions the plants do. Hi's in the lower 80's, best around 75, and lows in the 50's, best around 57.2. High humidity and good ventilation. Frog poop is the only fert the plants get in this tank.

Yes, splitting is easy. Just take at least 7-10 leaves with good roots. larger cuttings for shipping, as I recently found out the hard way.
