Thank you Roberta! I need to research the requirements for the Schoenorchis a little more. I have just one more question that you will probably think weird, but: do you think orchids are sensitive to noise? I have mine on the counter in my kitchen where there is some clanging of pots and pans, although not often since I hate to cook! 😕

I would greatly doubt that sound would be an issue for orchids - or for any plants. I can't imagine any way that noise could affect them. (I know some people play music to their plants, but any effect likely is that the people are calmed and therefore take better care of everything)

Your initial solution can be used easily with xaxim (that's the brasilian name, don't know the english translation, if there's any).
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....HL._SX466_.jpg It saves you from the hussle of watering/misting/whatever daily. You put the plaque inside a shallow pot or container with water which is wicked by the xaxim. It also creates a micro environment with the right humidity values. |
I will check it out! Thank you!

In my oppinion that your best option.

Checking that out, I found something called “Epiweb”. Have you heard of that?

It has a good resistance to degradation but if the above mentioned material is non-degradable even better. |
