Masdevallia glandulosa
Well here is a super bright and pretty flower to chase the blues away.
First time flowering a Masdevallia and I am thrilled even though I cant take 100% credit for this bloom. It has grown surprisingly well in the three months I’ve had it, however. This was purchased from Ecuagenera in January and is living in my intermediate/cool terrarium. So far it’s putting out 6 growths, lots of roots, and 7 buds (other 3 should be opening in a few weeks and I have no idea how long they last). Nice and fragrant too. Fragrance is always hard for me to describe but I would say it’s spicy, sweet and not at all unpleasant.

That is extremely pretty and very vivid. Scented is a bonus. It looks very happy and healthy on that mount.

Thank you both! I was so excited when I saw a few spikes on this in early March and, now that it’s bloomed, I couldn’t be happier with the color. I assumed all of the pics I saw on the internet of the species were photoshopped. Not so much. It really is so fricken vibrant that it glows. Here’s a pic of it in my tank under LED’s and looking fluorescent. It’s pretty hard to miss. It’s a nice smaller growing species too

Thanks y’all!
And on the fragrance: My spouse has literally had his nose buried in this thing for the past 15 minutes (he has a much better ‘nose’ than I do), and this is what he described. Eggnog, sweet mint and cinnamon, bubblegum, slightly medicinal with hints of jasmine, vanilla and sandalwood. He said he would bottle that and wear it every day if he could lol
