Help me with my new dslr, some pics have washed out colors.

Thanks. I won't say I am super picky about color reproduction, but if you see the side by side pics, there clearly was a problem. A big problem. I'm not looking for dead accuracy, and as you say, every person's monitor is different. But I want photos that overall capture the flowers as they really are.

As for being creative with the light, I did what I could with what I had on hand at the moment. And I would say that considering that, it's not too bad.
