Photo Uploads

I've noticed that there seems to be at least different ways photos are posted to the OB. One is via attachments. However, now I find that some files taken with my new digital are apparently too large to upload as attachments...what to do?

Second are photos, like those from Ron Hanko, where when one clicks on the thumbnail, one is taken to the photo on Flickr, but how, Ron, do you make this link when you submit the post.

Third are photos which seem to be posted at full size without attachment like those of orchideya in the post "Some pictures with new lens.."

I cannot find any info in the FAQ, so would those folks referenced in my post share how they uploaded or linked their photos?

Photos can be re-sized to attach - I think that may be covered in the "tips for posting photos" thread http://www.orchidboard.com/community...ng-photos.html.

I'm not sure about the thumbnail links ti flicker - I think that may be from a url created by flicker ... hopefully those that use this method will chime in. I know photo sharing and hosting sites create different urls for different sizes. These can be used to post the image directly in your post. Orchid Board gallery also gives you urls to use this way.

The link Sonya gave actually has some info on how to do it from Flickr as an example (because I use that so that's what I knew to write about).

http://www.orchidboard.com/community...tml#post396303 This should jump to the right point. Follow the instructions for BBCode which shows a Flickr screen shot. You just copy and paste the BBCode that Flickr supply into your post... as easy as that... and that's why I chose Flickr when I was picking a photo hosting site a couple of years back, ones like Picasa are possible but not easy.

Okay, I'm a dummy - how do you copy and paste the BBC code into my OB posts?

I think you can click on the link to highlight it (if not, click and hold while dragging the cursor over the link to highlight it), then right-click, choose "copy" from the drop-down menu. Then, in your post, right-click and choose "paste".
