Understanding White Balance
Here is an article on colour temp. (white balance). Even if you get it right in the camera, then your monitor has to be set up to match and how you process your photos with software can have an effect. Usually things aren't too far off (in my experience) with monitors, and even printers, but if they are then you need a tool to calibrate it. Just getting it correct in the camera is the first step. Do you use Photoshop or something to do any editing to your photos? Also if you can shoot RAW it is easier and better quality to adjust them, but you need software to convert RAW files to J-Peg or something more usable.
