Some more from Saturday. (Not sure why Flickr thinks today when my computer correctly has them dated the 9th

) Again the first one was handheld during initial testing.

Not sure I like the lighting on these which was inside but bright sun shining in the patio door. Gives quite natural colour for the natural light, but shines off the flowers too much for my taste.

This flower is a bit of a mutant

Two lips, two columns and too many petals and sepals.

Look at Manfrotto tripods. Even though they are a mite pricey, everyone I've spoken with says they are the one's to get and will last a lifetime.

Yes hubby's friend who wants to take him to a camera show also recommended that make. He said just the same, that while pricey they are thought to be the best. He recommended getting one at the show as he reckons from past experience that you can probably get them a little cheaper there.

I have a Manfrotto tripod and really like it. It is considered the affordable brand of the 'good' tripods since you can spend a lot more on other brands. And I LOVE my Manfrotto ball head. I wouldn't have the regular handles and knobs after using one. It means the difference between wanting to use and enjoying my tripod, and just using it occasionally because I really need to.
