I live in Central Alberta and I'd love to come down one day. My problem seems to be that 1 life seems too short - there is way too much to do, way too much to see. So, since I won't get to see it all, I am ever so grateful to those who let me enjoy their trips in such a beautiful way. Thanks again for the beautiful pictures.

Hi Ezil,
You are not that far away in Central Alberta (we have a daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter in Edmonton and make the trip as often as we can. I do agree, though, that life is way too short to see and do everything. If you ever do make it down, though, we'd be delighted to show you some Washington hospitality.

Interesting, a friend of mine went on a bus trip there, last week, from here on Vancouver Island. She really loved it, and couldn't understand why most of the people on her bus went to the casino or mall instead!

To the Casino or the mall? I guess I think differently than people like that. The Casino I never go to and the mall only if I have to.

I agree! Why throw away money that could be spent on orchids?

I guess we have a different set of values that most people. To me there is nothing more up lifting in the spring than something blooming, especially orchids.

I agree. I would rather be out hiking than anything else, but even then we spend a lot of time looking for native orchids. Was out Saturday and saw the first of them, the Fairy Slippers in Washington Park. Will post some pictures on my blog sometime this week.

Cool! I'll look forward to seeing them! We hike a lot, too. We have beautiful trails here, but so far the only orchid we've seen is spotted coral root.
