Got new dslr
Hello,
I got new dslr camera and here are some test photos.
I resized them to 30% of actual size before posting.
Shot in a flower shop darkness with all default settings.
Such a big difference from my old canon point-and-shoot!

Sorry, forgot to mention that it is Nikon D7000 and it is my first DSLR. Didn't go through the whole huge manual yet...

It was an early Christmas present from my husband. I just mentioned that it is totally impossible to create a decent closup of a flower with our 10-year old canon powershot 4mp. He did a research and brought me this Nikon D7000 camera and also Nikon SB-600 flash.
I found that this combination is perfect for clueless non-pro like me.
And also flash does make a difference. I tested camera with built-in flash and this sb-600. You could definitely see it.
I like to have camera everywhere, not only for my plants, but my favorite subjects are flowers -they are beautiful and don't move...

Here are some pics of "moving object", please meet Emma, our german pointer.
Camera has pre-set scene mode "Pets" that was used for these shots

RJ, Don't put yourself down! I love your paph closet and the pictures I recall that you have posted are fine! Just keep shooting. Remember, the difference between a good photographer and a bad photographer is that the good photographer throws away the bad shots!

Ah, I figured out what the camera icon means beside your info and browsed your galleries. They are so nice.
RJ, your orchids collection is much more interesting then mine, I have just three phals from walmart and one small laelia seedling that doesn't grow much. I really liked your mounted phal, something that I wouldn't even know how to start creating...
Connie, thank you. I do enjoy it a lot. We will have an annual orchid show here in Ottawa in April, I am so ready to take lots of pictures.
Chidlove, the yellow flowering orchid in your gallery, is it laelia? I am new to orchids and am still learning a lot about them.
Thanks
