Question Recommend layman photopaper?

I recently invested in an HP Photosmart printer in an effort to get on top of printing my millions of photos from travels over the years.

If I use the paper I want, (HP Advanced), I'm not saving much money- but I am saving time and appreciate the convenience.

Can anybody recommend paper for just average photo-album use? Of course I want something that will stand the test of time, but these photos will be safe in albums, not exposed to light.

I. Should I stick with the HP brand, since it is recommended for my printer? Or is there another brand that is just as good, but more economical?
II. The HP Advanced photo paper is what fits my budget- I can't go much more in $$$ than that, but am willing to look at alternatives.

I want something that will keep the picture as crisp as I see it on my computer screen.

Glare bothers me.
1. For in-album photos, what finish should I use? Matte, semi-gloss?
2. For in-frame photos under glass, what finish will glare the least, but still be crisp?

I bow to your photo-genius!
Thank you all for being such a gracious, wonderful resource!

Izzie,
Can't necessarily comment on the brand of paper.
However, my friend is an professional photographer who has sold some of his work in a gallery etc. and he will use both types depending on the effect he is looking for.
You never know until you try and imo I would buy a small amount of each paper and print the image with each. You can describe how you want the item to come out and we can guess all we want, but a picture is worth a thousand words!
Cheers!
