Well,I've been looking at several. Mostly the AF-S VR 105 f/2.8G IF-ED when I'm looking at orchids. Then when I'm bird watching which I love as much I'd like the
AF-S NIKKOR 300mm f/4D IF-ED but that's twice the price.
Great pictures. I like the first one most, great angle too.

No. I wish I was. I like to take pictures a lot but I'm far from much of a photographer. Sometimes I just rush it, I don't have the patience that a good photographer needs. But I do get good shots. Oh yeah D-60. My profile pic was my first ghost I should change it for a bloomer but I sorta like that one. My cherry and all you know?

Jpeg, since I am just keeping it simple right now. I decided to go back to school and have little time for anything else at all, but yes I would love to join a photo club.

Here's another attempt at non-orchid flower art.
This was a several step process to get this image to this stage. In the end it was Topaz Simplify that was used to get that painterly effect.
The original shot was taken with my Canon 40D and a 85mm f1.8. This is a new lens for me and I'm completely in love with it now. It's a bit tighter than I'm used to as I always havemy 24-70 f2.8L on my body. But that f1.8 is really nice for shallow DoF or low light stuff. This lens doesn't allow me to get too close with it as it's minimum focus distance is .83 meters. Not real close, but that's not why I got this lens. It's super fast to the focus with it's USM and wide open f1.8 aperture. And it's super sharp!
