I'm not sure what you mean by "embed" but all digital cameras record the EXIF data - all the information you are talking about and more. If you mean printing it on the photo, my camera can be set to do that using the print settings in the camera. I have a Canon 7D, but would expect that most DSLR's will do the same.

I agree with Ron. When I upload photos to my hosting site, all the information about the camera and settings shows up on the photos. It must come from the camera when the upload is done. I have a Canon XSi.

If you shoot your pictures in RAW format you will get all that information - and the ability to change it in post processing, if you use Adobe Camera Raw which will detect RAW images as you load them to Photoshop. The only thing to be ware of is that RAW format gobbles up a lot of card space in your camera compared with JPEGs.

Even shooting in JPEG with an entry-level dSLR, you should be able to view data on your computer without any special program. Just right-click (not sure what Mac users would do) and look at the properties.

Even compact digitals usually embed that sort of info in the jpeg. I can always see it on my PC. I use Windows Live Photo Galary which shows it all, but on all the latest PC operating systems a right click 'Properties' will show it. I guess an old operating system that did not know about the exitance of EXIF information in Jpegs would not be able to show it.

I don't think you can see the info on the forum. I've never found a way on that. I think the only way would be if the website hosting the pictures had a special feature for that.

If your browser supports extensions (like Firefox), you can get an extension that will allow you to view .exif info, like FxIF for Firefox. With this particular one you can simply right click on the image and select "Exif data" and it will pull all the .exif data there is available (many pictures have the .exif data stripped out).
