Depends. When doing portraiture and pre-planned photos of places or items, I will shoot in JPEG+RAW to allow for post-processing.

When doing general shoot and sports, I will shoot in full-quality JPEG due to convenience, as well as the fact that when shooting sports, my memory card fills up very quickly.

how big is your memory card? do you have lightroom? because lightroom makes it so much easier to convert and edit lighting and such and also its quicker to do it that way. also, what do you edit with? i use photoshop cs3

I have a 8 gig card which I usually use, with two 2 gigs as backup.
Never tried Lightroom. What is it as opposed to Photoshop?
I currently use Photoshop CS3, but I am planning on getting CS5.

i just wrote a whole huge post about lightroom. and then my browser closed D: lightroom is made by adobe for raw conversion. there is soo much more you can do with lightroom than cs3 for raw files. you can adjust exposure and other stuff more accurately than on lightroom than photoshop. its basically you can develop the negatives ( raws ) on the computer. Adobe - Photo Management Software - Photoshop Lightroom

Raw processing...

When I got my 7D I was forced to upgrade to Photoshop CS4, because CS3 won't read the RAW files. They've really improved the RAW processing menus, and I imagine they will be even better in CS5.

I've used lightroom, but prefer photoshop because I do a lot of headshots, etc, so I need more retouching options.

Also upgraded to a 16 gig card to deal with the huge video files. ; )

nice! i have cs3 and i cant open raw files on it. it says i need to d-load the latest plug-in, but i did that and it still wont work. And i already have lightroom. and then i develop there and then do major stuff in photoshop after the pic is converted

Yup!

Another alternative if people don't want to buy a new piece of software (either the new PS or Lightroom), but still want to shoot in RAW is to use the Adobe DNG converter - It's free on their site, and you can use that to do a file conversion to a format the older versions of Ps can read.
