Isn't it fun? I got into orchids partly to have something to photograph. You're off to a great start.

Nice shots. I'm still working on my Nikon D80 I got last year just before they were discontinued. Still struggling with closeups.

Like Susan asked what lenses did you use? What were the shot stats?

Cheers.

I'm not sure this question was directed to me, but I use two close-up lenses, a 50mm and a 100mm on my Canon XTi which have a magnification factor of 1.6, so it's like 80mm and 160mm. My greatest area of interest is macro photography, which is why I have these two (expensive and heavy) lenses.
I haven't figured out how to do thumbnails in posts yet but a link to my albums is

Thank you very much all
I'm having a fun with my new camera, Just need to find some xtra time to play

Sue, I didn't buy anything extra, it came with the 18-55 lens, but I need more The other lens I was looking at with a $800.00 zoom lens. Ooh only if money grew on tree's.
Did you get yourself anything extra for yours - love to hear about if you did!

Jim, You've taken some really beautiful shots - no macro lens?? Lemmie get back to you on the stats

Connie, I feel the same as you. I think we have certainly picked out beautiful subjects to shoot. I really enjoy getting a few shots every year from the garden.
I always love to hear about how others go about getting those awesome shots

Hi Jim,

Well I hate to say this but unfortunately I no longer have the stats to those photos, (Sorry Jim) Not sure where they went to Its a newer program with this recent camera, still not sure how to work it all just yet.

This morning I did find a separate program file to hold all the photos and stats, I'm darn happy about this

I found a good deal on a previously owned 60 mm macro lens and really really enjoy playing with it. Other than that have the 18-55 mm kit lens like you. Not enough money right now to get more expensive toys .

Sweet set up! Were you looking at the 70-200 f4 L Canon lens? I have that one for my 40D and I absolutely love it. Some say that it is Canon's sharpest lens they make. It's a stunning piece of glass. The 60mm Macro lens is the next one I want to get.
