I just got a Sunpack DigiPro XLT Digital, it's a little heavier and not as nice as the 785B but it was given to me as a gift so I couldn't say no.

Great - never look a gift tripod in the legs. The main thing is that you've got what you need ... free.

"never look a gift tripod in the legs" LOL that's funny. I took some pics with it outside as soon as I got home, a little rushed cause of the rain that was coming. it was fun playing with it.

If it didn't come with one (most do) you might consider getting a quick release mount for and for the camera.

Ron it did come with one thanks. I'm bummed out, our instructor called and canceled because of a spider bite. I wanted to tell him to man up and go but I kept my mouth shut and told him to get well soon.

Spider bite??

I'm 50 yrs living down here in So Flo, and 20 yrs in the bug business. If anyone would've gotten a spidey bite, it would have been me... but naught.

Prolly more like an in-grown hair/pimple, or MRSA.

OR, a cheezy man's feminine monthly visit excuse.

Tell him to man up and get on with it.
