Default Yeah!!!!! A new lense!!!!!!

So I finally got a new mid to long lense. The very cool Canon 70-200 f/4.0 L, SWEET!!!! My first white Canon lense! It so sharp and light! It's not the very, very cool 70-200 f2.8 L, but this will be a great additon to my collection of Canon lenses.

Here are some examples of this lense from my rose garden.

I can't wait to try it out on the orchids. Of course I'll have to use the flash because it's a f4 lense. But I have a great technic for lighting the orchids anyway.

I'll post some more pics of the orchids in a while.

Those are great shots - especially #2. I can hardly wait to see some orchid pictures!

Here are a few shots of one of the only two ochids I have in bloom. The color is tough with this one. It is so very dark purple/red that it is hard to expose correctly. It's some NOID Dendrobium.

I shot some of my son's football practice this morning and I just have to say, I love this lense!!

The f/4 is a really good lens. I have the 2.8 IS and love it.

I wish I could have bought either the 2.8 or the 2.8 IS lenses, but money or a lack there of was the deciding factor. And as I don't make my living selling photos, the f4 L lense was going to have to do. I do a lot of travel for work and the f4 L is a lot lighter than either of the 2.8 L lenses so that's a bonus for me.

Great pics man.
I myself debating between getting the 70-200 f/2.8 IS or the 100-400 f/4 IS for a telephoto zoom lens.

Tough choice man, tough choice. If I could do it I'd love the 100-400 f4 L myself. Though as a daily lense, the 70-200 f2.8 is a more useful lense. You'll take more pictures with the 70-200 than the 100-400, unless you are into shooting wildlife. The 70-200 with a 1.4 converter isn't quite enough at times. About a week after getting the 70-200 f4 L lense I took a trip to Alaska with my family and was wishing I had a longer lense at times.

Oh well!
Good luck with your choice of lenses!
