Have you been to Sanam Luang Song market?

They have a big amount of Orchids there too.

My limit per plant is nothing over 150 Baht.

I'm off to Prachuap Khiri Khan over Songkran and I'm planning on coming back with a pick-up load of native species.

I havent been there - I will check it out. I dont buy much at JJ. I am just keeping my eye out for species I can get in Australia and I live around the corner. Phal Lowii is at the top of my list I am beginning to think I will have to pollinate some myself or get some stems done when the flower later this year..

The Alba of Paph Bellatulum is a bit over-priced for a market I think. If I had a selfing of a named cultivar out of the USA/Europe (in flask for me) I would say buy it, not an un-named first flowering. It is too much drama to import Paphs to Australia - Bl%%dy customs/AQIS. I am waiting of some flasks from the USA later this year instead - from a top paph breeder. Better deal. Same price as 1 FS plant - 25 seedlings of a good cultivar.

Some species there are ok though and for tourists I think its worth a look. I asked around and 4 of the stores say they can get CITES and Phyto certs... I wonder.

What days is the Sanam Luang Sawn market on selling orchids? Any particular location?

Sanam Luang 2 is open everyday. They are at Puttamonton Sai 3, but I couldn't give you a Street address though sorry
