Default Pictures from the London Ontario Orchid Show.

I had a hard time deciding where to post this and hope I got it right if not please move to the best spot.

So I went to the orchid show today and picked picked my LONG awaited purchases, and of course a few extras. I took lots of pictures and even got the names for most of them...

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

includes my extra purchases too.

Hmm... I was going to start a new thread, but I see that phearamedusa beat me to it, so I'll just add to yours. I'm glad you found some new additions to take home!

I'm the President of the LOS, for those that don't know me. This was our 32nd annual show, this year we had 15 displays. A little smaller than last year, darn recession.

Enough typing on to the pics

The London Display

Hamilton Greenhouse's display (long time vendor)

DiCiommo's display (long time vendor)
The Bulb. Elizibeth Ann 'Buckleberry' won Best in Show, an absolute monster of a plant!

A little pink candy stripe Phal.

Phal. schilleriana I believe, I love species!

A Dend. nobile

Lycaste

A masdevallia (orange miny Catt. in the corner)

Speaking of Catts, who says green flowers are ugly?

Nice splash Petal Catt

Cymbidium Hybrid

I love this one Cymbiduim sikkimense,

Multifloral Paph.

Paph. hirsutissimum,

Paph delenatii

Best Paph in the show, Paph. Spotglen x Duncan York

Almost forgot, there where three AOS awards at the show this year.

Odontioda Bonne Nuit, don't have the clonal name
HCC/AOS

Pontinara Stinfong Dawn, the stem was the size of your thumb!
HCC/AOS

Phal. Nobby's Amy 'Be Glad' x rothchildianum
Fantastic display with one plant, a show in a pot!
HCC/AOS and CCM/AOS

Thanks for looking

How did I miss that Green Catt., and Phal. Nobby's Amy 'Be Glad' x rothchildianum was just amazing for the number of flowers it had. The show may not have been as big as the last time I attended, but it still packs a colorful punch. The Windsor Orchid Society is stilling talking about having a show. If you were there on Sunday around 1pm, I was the one with the camera in one hand, and the note pad in the other. Or I could have been over talking with Mike and Tom from OGS.

It's easy to miss things at a show, that's why you have to go around and around the show.
I was there most of the weekend, but so many things to do I can hardly remember who was there.
Mike and Tom from OGS are great supporters of the southern Ontario orchid scene, I'm so glad we have two stores in London. Makes getting supplies a non-issue.
Windsor should have a show, I'll help in anyway I can.

The credit for the pictures goes to my Dad, he's quite good at it.(I'm rather biased though) I never get time at the show to take pictures, so I'm glad that he lets me post them anywhere that I want.
