Great pics and posts. I'm going to Redlands this weekend and have an extra day. I was hoping to see the swamp some. Can't go up to my waist in the water. No way to get the waders in my luggage. I'm just interested in riding around the Everglades or going to a park. Maybe some day I can come back with hip waders. A guy in my orchid club got an FCC for a Ghost orchid, but until I have a greenhouse, no chance of even growing one for me.

I think I'm going to the show on sunday. The glades are dry dry dry. I highly recommend going to the strand if you can. Just make sure you don't venture to far of the road without a gps or at least a compass. Have a great time, be safe and of course post some pictures.

Where is the strand?
Everything was burning just west of Miami when was there last year. Ash was falling like snow in Cutler Ridge.

The entrance is a couple miles north for US 41 on SR 29. From South Miami go north on Chrome Ave to US 41 then west to SR 29 then north to the entrance of the Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve then follow Jane's Scenic road into the preserve. We had some fires a couple weeks ago but I have not heard if they are still going.

Excellent! Thanks!
Suppose to be 42 here tonight and almost 90 there the next couple days. Florida always kills me, but I have fun looking at all the plants.
