Huntington Library Orchid Show 2023
My photos from the 7th Annual Huntington International Orchid Show and Sale. All were hand-held with available light. What I chose to photograph was mainly decided by what I thought would turn out ok. Enjoy!

Those are phenomenal photographs Goat. Thank you for sharing.
A member of NHOS donated a gigantic Cymbidium Pauwelsiii ‘Kessander,’ to Huntington a couple of years ago. They moved it cross country in a U-Haul truck. It was the only orchid this guy owned and he babied the hell out of it for years. It finally overgrew the bathroom and it took like 4 people to get it out of the house and a forklift to get it onto the truck.
It wouldn't have been in bloom when you were there but I think there are some videos and pics online if you're interested.

I read about that shortly after they acquired it. I think I saw it in the Chinese garden a few months ago (that or some other humongous cymbidium), but unfortunately it wasn't blooming then either. If I do ever catch it I'll be sure to post photos here!

LOL---- that picture is from a couple of years ago on its way to NH annual show.
It's WAY bigger than that now.

In a talk that he gave a couple of months ago, Brandon Tam says that it's going to have to happen. I'm glad it isn't ME that is facing that job!
