phal keikis
one of my phals drop the last of its flowers around 1 month ago the spike has not started to dry up, on the contrary it look as if is going to stay perky for a long time...
I just find out that you can actually encourage keikis on the old spikes.
DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW??  |

Don't know about Keikis, but it may rebloom for you if you trim the spike just below the bottom-most flower (well, actually the place where the bottom-most flower used to be  ) I'm sure others will share their knowledge of how to encourage keikis to sprout out from a spent flower spike. |

Hello!
You can use keikigrow, a paste made with hormone, vitamin in a lanolin base. You apply it on a dormant bud and voilà !

yes, I used the keiki grow before with great succes.
The Phal in my avatar is my Dtps Kenneth Schubert which is still blooming since february or march !

They vary in purple tones, some even on the blue side. I, also like this hybrid

I have a keiki from a plant I received from Walmart...can you believe it! They left to die in a corner, and the leaves are still gorgeous and the spike looks great, and a keiki was growing....they gave it to me half off!!! I couldn't believe it, now it has a cluster of three leaves. I don't know hw to encourage it, but it is coming from the old spike, which was previously cut before I bought it, then the keiki came from the the top cut. I don't know if this helps, I thought it was interesting though!!

Please be aware that keiki growth can be dependent on the species make-up of the plant in question. Those with equestris, pulchra and some other species keiki quite readily; others may not ever send out keikis. What is the name of the plant?
