Smile My Ridgeback Puppy

Greetings Friends,

I've been away for a while. I bought a new house and am having a greenhouse built that will be attached. There is a door in my bedroom that will exit right into the greenhouse. It will be really great when it's done.

Because I am alone 700' back on a wooded lot I wanted to get a dog that would be intimidating once it was an adult that wouldn't raise my homeowners insurance. I've also known a lot of Rhodesian Ridgebacks so I got myself a puppy. She's 7 months old know and quite the dog. Her name is Kaya and she eats every orchid flower that falls to the floor if I don't pick it up first. And before I put mouse traps on the table with the orchids she destroyed several plants when my back was turned. She is very fast. Don't worry about the mouse traps hurting her; they are much smaller then her feet and only slap her or they don't even touch her and just make noise and startle her.

If I could figure out how to put a picture of her in here I would. She's a really cute one. The people in my OS asked me if she was still alive after eating the orchids and, indeed she is; she didn't kill anything nearly as expensive as she was!

Blessings,
Randy

Randy's back! Glad to see you again Randy. Was wonderin where you've been

How big's the greenhouse? Can we have parties there Like a couple I've seen here in last couple weeks? What help do you need with photos? Just take the picture with a digital camera (you have one of those, right? )

You won't quite be able to have parties in it. Just wait until I get the second section added on, THEN we can have parties in it! The first section will be 20' along the house by 13 away from the house. The kit should be here from Janco later this month. My ideal is to have 2 sections, one for warm-intermediate and the other for cool/cold.

As far as the pictures I have them all on my computer already as .jpgs but the piece at the top for adding an image wanted a web address not a place on my computer. That's what confused me. I could easily put them into a folder but I wanted to put a pic of my pup in here.

RAndy you could also create a free account with Photobucket.com and upload you pics to there. [Can't remember what they ask you to resize pics down to.] They then provide you with links to paste into your posts.

Randy could also upload his downsized photos to a gallery right here in Orchid Board and post links from there.

Congrats on all these good changes Randy. Glad to see you back again. Also, I suggest an Orchid Filling Party for the Greenhouse. Everyone brings something for the greenhouse, orchids, supplies, whatever anyone can afford. Hehe.

Hi there!! Welcome back! I remember reading some of your posts when I was searching for things, and thinking hey, where did this cool lady go?!?!

As for the posting of pics, you're right, on the default reply box, you only get the option to enter a web address. If you 'Go Advanced' you can add attachments (photos) from your hard drive.

Default Picture Attached

Who says dogs don't know how to use pillows!!

Her name is Kaya. She was 5 months old in the "pillow shot" and 10 weeks old in the shot of her wrestling with the Golden; tomorrow is her 7 month birthday and she weighs 60 pounds already. She will be one big girl. Digging is one of her favorite passtimes when she is outside. She also loves to jump, as do most Ridgies.

Now that I've figured out how to put pics into my posts I may do more of them.

Randy

Cute pup!

Out of curiousity, why is that type called a "Ridgeback"?
