Lola looks like she must be a hug magnet. How could anyone resist?

OMG! Sooooooooooooo cute!! She is starting to develop her mature coat - I remember that in between phase. Get ready...her legs are about to take over. Around 6 months old Huey's legs started getting long and he looked like a gawky teen. Still adorable but he was all legs for a few months until the rest of his body caught up.
I can see a goofy streak in her eyes. Huey had that same look and he was a total clown. Clownish but w/a little bit of ornery. Awwwwww.
If you didn't already have a mastiff, I would warn you to get plenty of rags handy but you're well-versed in drool. Or, as we used to call it...sloodgey.
Again, she's adorable.

Thank you so much, Katrina! That's so funny you said that about her legs because I had just mentioned that to my mom a few days ago when I was watching her drink. As for her coat, well that is something that I am getting used to. We have a decent size yard, somehow she has managed to find a plant that has all these seeds that get stuck in her coat when I think I have found that plant and removed it the next time she is let out she comes back in covered in (like thousands) them! Since brushing still isn't "her thing" it's a task to get them out.
As for the drool, it is what it is. While I don't love it, it comes with the territory and I have learned to marvel at exactly how high and far it can be flung with just a shake of the head. What I don't like it when it ends up in my hair or food!!!
Thanks again for all your kind words!

Yea, that Newfy coat loves to pick up all sorts of stuff. Huey loved getting brushed but he had his limits and would get restless after a period of time so I started doing half of him at a time. He gladly accepted that and it was easier on me too. The only area he really didn't like getting brushed was around his butt and that was always a bit of a struggle.
As for the drool - oh lord, I hear ya! It really can land in some unbelievable places. I found it on the ceiling a few times. We always had towels handy and if the boys were with us...we never left home w/out a couple. The whole drool thing never really bothered us...I guess because we got used to cleaning up all the time...but a couple of our friends couldn't stand having Mo and Huey around when we were eating. Needless to say, those friends weren't invited over for dinner any more. LOL!
She is adorable and I envy all those Newfy kisses you'll be getting. If she's like our boys were...she is a big kisser. Yep...just a wee bit jealous here. Oh, I so need another big lug running around the house. [sniff, sniff]

Thank you! And yes she is a big kisser! I have never had a dog who kissed. My Dane was a leaner when she wanted to love on you. My mastiff purrs while his entire head is in your lap, he is also an entire body wagger when he is happy to see you.
I hope that you get your dog soon. We had considered not getting another dog after we lost, Zoey, our Great Dane in November, but the house just seemed like it was missing something. So I understand the sadness. So from over here we are sending you lots of licks, tail wags and drool to tide you over until you welcome your next furry family member.
