I have been really trying not to get a male betta, but this guy put an end to that thinking. I think he is amazing!

This photo does not do him justice, is is a lighter silver and those lines that go through his fins are incredible.

I think I will name him Sterling, or Argent. What do you think. Any more suggestions?

How about Sergeant Sterling? Sort of a combo of the 2 names you picked

What a beauty! His coloring is amazing. Even better, they really have personality.
This thread reminds me that I need to buy another plant for mine. One of the plants I bought turned out to be a terrarium plant instead. Now she just has the java and moss ball.

They really love floating plants. I also have a filter on my tank. I know they don't like filters, so I decided to run mine a few hours a day to clean the tank a bit.

Strangely enough, yesterday I found a small ornate painted box turtle in my yard, so I need to figure out what to do with her.

Yes, she liked resting on the plant that didn't work out so I will need to find her something similar.
Do all of your females do well with other fish? This female is so aggressive, I don't think she would fare well with a tank mate. I named her 'Tiger' due to her nature.
I really love some of the new varieties that are appearing. I just had to buy one for someone who had lost theirs and we really had a difficult time selecting one. Yours is really beautiful. Congratulations on finding him.

Hi Leafmite. They have a hierarchy. As long as they understand their place they are peaceful. I have 4 in my 75 gallon. It used to be a 29 gallon, and they were the same 4. There are a lot of fish, but they mainly are on the bottom and the middle. My bottoms are loaches, 2-dojo, 5-yoyos and 4-kuhli, 2- brunocephalus, 3-farowellas, and 2-corie cats. 12 glass catfish. 5 pristella. 4-zebra danios, 4-endlers. There are also 2 blackwidow tetras.

They get along with all of them. No problem. except for the dojo loaches, the fish just stay out of the way. The danios and the dojos are playful and tend to bother everyone, but the daniios are too fast and the dojos are about 3 times as big, so they really rule the roost.

I have a Cambodian female who is slightly aggressive. She will flare occasionally. There are so many places to hide in a 70 with plants that it hasn't concerned me. This is the bad girl. I think it is all about sorting it if it is aggression or normal territoriality which will not be stoppable, except by moving the fish (unless you know how to clicker train them.
