Fur and feathers -- what a mess!
Meet my little mess-makers!
The cat is Bindi, a Maine coon. He's such a gorgeous boy with far too much personality. He's vocal and playful, but also very, very friendly, a great big sweetheart. He loves to fetch anything that's thrown for him, and he waits by the door for us to come home.
The dog is Moo, so named because she looks like a cow She's waiting patiently in her crate for a treat. She's a very obedient and agile dachshund mix. She and the cat are roughly the same size and the best of friends.
The grey cockatiel bird is Bebop. He's a talker. Loves to remind me that it' "time for breakfast!" and to answer the phone: "Hello? blahblahblahblah (he makes scratchy sounds to emulate human speech)" He's vocal, but kind of dumb. If the cat ever gets into the birds' room, he'll fly straight to him to greet him!
Jazz, the yellow bird, is much smarter, but silent. He figures out how to open cages. The birds stay in the sunroom, where they're free to fly most of the time. I overwinter the plants in that room, so they get their own tropical paradise a quarter of the year!

Awwww, they're all so cute but being "owned" by a Dachshund, I would have to say Moo is my favorite. Just want to scoop her up and cuddle her! They have the most irresistibly adorable little faces <3 Whatever she is mixed with, the Doxie definitely shows

Great fotos! I'm partial to Cooners and what I cannot do in the big dog catagory I can do with large cats. Send more pix when you can!

Kind of reminds me of my zoo, with one exception. My Macaw doesn't open cages, she disassembles them bolt by bolt! Her favorite toy is a metal bar that has threaded rods of varying sizes with nuts on them. In hindsight it was probably a mistake to give it to her........

Your animal friends look very happy and healthy. Love the cat. If I was not so allergic to cats, I would definitely get a Maine coon, they are beautiful! And what lucky birds to hang out with your orchids!

Judith, thanx! I've had several doxies throughout the years, and Moo is definitely my fav! She still has that doxie adorableness but whatever she was mixed with helped mitigate some of the stubbornness. She's still got the digging gene, though. One of our previous doxies dug so much that he caused foundation problems in our house!!
DeaC and Joseia, haha, big cats are awesome, especially when they're sweet. I'll put up more pix soon! The birdies are definitely lucky, and I'm fortunate that they don't nibble on the plants, just fertilize them!
Subrosa, I am laughing so hard!! You have your hands full. Just be careful... While one of my friends was away, his macaw learned to open its cage and the cage of the python in the other room Too smart for its own good.

I lost an Amazon to a python many years ago. They're really completely incompatible. My current zoo was thought out much better. The bird came first, and everyone else was brought in as a puppy or kitten. My Anatolian grew up licking excess hand feeding formula off of Bella, and she laid down the law to the kittens from day one. Bella is the boss and they all know it!

Awwwww they are all sooooo cute and I am in the group that's partial to kitty-butt.
We are a big-dog family and so, naturally, I love the big kitties too. We've had cats for many years but never a MC...yet.

My next pet will be a small parrot of some sort! I am attracted to the Indian Ring necks, quaker parrot, or ciaque. (I think the perfect one will find me when I am ready to get him or her). Unfortunately I got my kitty after swearing "no more pets." Unfortunately, I found her lying in a road and that was it. So I really cannot get my parrot for another 2 years at least.
