We should know by this coming weekend. Our breeder is doing some more evaluations to choose the pup she is going to keep. She had picked one for us, but he may not be available. So she is evaluating the other remaining pup to see if he is too active for our home or not. She thinks this other pup may be a possible match too, but is not as comfortable with him as she is with the other boy. We'll see what happens! Keep those fingers crossed and thank you for all the good luck you have sent so far!!

Just curious...would a rescue dog not be a consideration?

I have two rescue dogs already. Normally, I rescue seniors, but this time I wanted a puppy and had a bad experience with adopting one from a shelter that the shelter's vet did not identify correctly. He listed her as an adult terrier without looking at her teeth. She was a 10 week old Lab pup. The shelter staff moved her to the adult population kennel and she picked up distemper there, because she was not vaccinated prior to them putting her in the main kennels. We had to put her down when she was 14 weeks old. This happened back in the early 90s. I know a lot has changed, but I cannot bring myself to adopt a puppy from a shelter. So... Puppies come from reputable breeders in my universe. Our pup will be neutered when he is finished growing, on leash or on my property until then, and I do plan to show him in AKC rally events.

Yes, I don't blame you for feeling as you do. With that said,it's only a matter of time until you'll find the right one. Orchids and pets...rock on!

Asking for Perfect Puppy Mojo!!
Thanks! I figure, if this puppy thing doesn't work out for me, then it's time for me to find a senior to bring home, but not too senior a senior. The last two seniors I have adopted were hard. I lost both to cancers they were diagnosed with a few months after we adopted them. I need a break from that, so if the evaluation turns up all wrong for us, I'll be choosy, but start looking for an older rescue.
Picotee: I also love cats. My cat is evil. I never can manage to get a picture of him when he's being adorable. He always looks like he's plotting world domination in pics. LOL!

And we're looking for a new member of the family again. She did not have a match for us and is going to help us find the right dog for our family. Back to the drawing board!
Thanks for sending us your good thoughts!

I wish you luck. Hopefully a nice puppy will soon be yours.
I've been in contact with 5 different saint Bernard breeders for 6 years. Still no puppy .
With such a big breed though I really want a reputable breeder who's genuinely concerned for the breeds health.
