Default guinea pig rescue

I don't quite now how it happened, but we are now the owners of one very cute and cuddly guinea pig.
Less than a week before christmas a work buddy of my mother's found a guinea pig in her frontyard. Someone had abandoned the poor animal in the street and it made it to her house. It spent over 4 days out in -10°C weather wandering in the neighboorhood. We took it in, thinking that we would find it a new home after christmas. A quick vet visit told us it was a 2 year old(ish) male who had a bad cold from being outside. And guess what? He never left! We named him Noël since he was a christmas guinea pig. He loves to be cuddled, and just stretches out on our laps to nap and be pet. He's starting to realize that that the noise of a plasic bag means hay is on the way, and now he squeals eagerly whenever we go by with tha plastic bag. Smart critter

Very nice story, Camille. Terrible to think how poorly many humans take their responsibilities as pet owners. Luckily, there seem to be a lot more people like you around to balance out the less-savory side of human nature. And lucky that your guinea pig's Andean ancestry was apparently useful at this time of year. Congratulations on a job well done. Now just remember to keep him away from your orchids!

He's a lucky young fellow!!! And a cutie, too. I can see why you've kept him.

Thanks for sharing him and his story!
