Thank you for saving that kitten!! As others have said, she really needs to see a vet in order to rule out any life threatening injuries or illness.

Where are you located? Its a long shot, but if you're in Minnesota, I'd be happy to take the kitten to the vet for you.

No matter where you live, there are Animal Rescue organizations that can help you get your kitty back to health.

It makes me feel good to know that there are still people who will help cats, I would love to have a cat but I can't be around them for more than a few min. due to health reason. Thank you for helping the cat.

Thanks. I am not in Minn. I am in NM. I took her to the vet. Got an xray and check up. She does not show trauma. As far as we can tell, she is a kitty with wobblers. She got confused and wandered. In the cold weather, she got exhausted and fell to sleep in the road. I probably picked her up soon after she collapsed senseless in the road. I put an ad in the papers just in case. So far no one is looking for her.

Thank you. My mother was a "crazy cat lady." She took in and aided strays when no one else would. I've always loved them, but I had to rehome the two I had when I lost my house, so I did not want to get involved again. There are so many strays around here. This was God, telling me that the kitty was alive and to grab it. I mean seriously. Something in my head said, go back, and I put the car in reverse. This is my little Karma cat.

I think Karma would be a wonderful name for her. I am so glad that she was not actually injured! That's great news!! Thank you for saving her.

I have a similar but not as tragic story?

A couple years ago I found 3 newborn kittens abandoned by the mother. I spent 2 weeks waking up every hour and then eventually 2 hours to feed them, and "clean them" with paper towels.
Likewise, I kept them in a 10 gal aquarium and then a 55 gal when they got bigger., with a warm light and a heat pad.
I bought kitten replacement milk (found at pet stores) as other milks hurt their stomachs (especially cows milk.) it was the hardest 2 weeks ever, I was 18? At the time, but they got easier to take care of when they started to become more independent.

I still have one that I saved, but the other two didn't make it. they were so tiny, maybe the size of a small hamster. The cat that survived acts more like a dog as my german shepherd loves cats and the cat looks up to my dog. It's actually pretty funny.

I actually have a story similar to yours from many years ago. I'm a geologist now, was a geology grad student back then. Stopping at road cuts through rocks and collecting them for study comes with the territory. I was doing this at a road cut along a major highway in Indiana when I heard what I thought was a catbird.

After a while, the call started to sound more like "cat" than "bird". I investigated, an found a tiny starving kitten emerging from hole in a pile of rocks. It was dirty & covered in fleas. I looked around & made sure there were no siblings in the same area, then put the kitten in a box, bought some food for it, & drove it back to Georgia. I had that cat for 17 years.

You did a good thing rescuing your kitten. Glad to hear it checked out ok at the vet. I hope it makes a full recovery.

This is the second kitten I've ever saved like this. A paleontologist (famous one) found a tiny kitten on a rock ledge in the mountains. Its eyes were still blue. He was horribly allergic to cats. I worked as an exhibit sculptor and helped with dinosaur bone preparation. He brought the kitten to the museum to try to pawn it off. (It needed feedings every 4 hours or something like that). I took the kitten home. It eventually turned into a 20 pound Main Coon cat, and was with me for 13 years. A pitbull attacked it eventually. I loved that cat, and have always had a thing about Main Coon cats.

She's got a good appitite, purs a lot, runs around. Right now she's bff with one of my rats. They actually wrestle and run around! Obviously under strict supervision. She climbs my clothes, bites my toes, sleeps on my face, has discovered watching my fish, and has become a handfull.

She still walks with her head slightly tilted. I don't know if this is something that will effect her in the future.
