We have the same pet! I think mine is a female though. I can't find any nymph photos, but I took this picture today of her on my epiphyllum. She's been hanging out on my orchids since she was a wee little killer.

Fantastic pictures! I love praying mantis and I get ridiculously excited when I find one in the yard.

My girls are getting to ages where they have started to show an interest in "bug catching", so far it's just been lightening bugs, but I can't lie I find it to be so much fun! (Don't worry we bring the lightening bugs up for a story and then we let them go to find their "friends".)

Creepy creatures, but very interesting for sure!
How they look and how they do yoga.

Great photos you took there.
Your hydrangea must have lots of bugs to offer him.
I have never had a single mantis staying on a pot of plant. They all go somewhere else. lol

I just watched some Youtube videos of the Orchid Mantis. It is snow white, and looks like it takes on the color of the flower it is sitting on. It is beautiful.

your plants will be very clean....these insects can be voracious eaters.

I was photographing my Vandas when this mantis happened to joyride on one of the plants....it went up to my apartment and stayed for the summer....

Saw the mantis again today...if it is the same one...it is definitely not a HE! This is a very pregnant female!

I used to keep a dead leaf mantis as a pet, a big female. She lived for a few years, pretty scary looking but fascinating creatures!

I was browsing one Indonesian forum, and someone offered orchid mantis as pets. It might be a nice pet idea for orchid hobbyist haha

That is so cool! I have some short video of a mantis eating a butterfly in my ferns a few years ago.
