These are adorable! It's nice to see pets so well cared for. The calico coloured guinea pigs have always been my favourites. I used to breed Peruvians at one time. I love all creatures.

I also used to have a lot of pets. I have got it down to a dog, rabbit. Pacific blue parrotlet and fish, including a koi pond. But I am cutting back on pets and substituting orchids. Now that we are older, the animals get to be harder to care for and we can't afford vets.
The days of monkey, goats, horse, chinchilla etc. are over.

Thank you!
Yeah, chickens weren't allowed here until a year or two ago, I know how that feels!

We have a collection of pets, too, though not as large as when our three kids were little. Pets are really rewarding.

Thank you as well! I love having a menagerie (maybe because I enjoy the company of animals more than humans) and it really pays off with the hens, even though it's winter and they don't lay as much they still have great personalities.

I try to keep them well cared for, thank you! I would have a Peruvian, (they are so adorable) but I had a hard enough time getting Patches to like Cookie.

Awww, I love parrotlets! They're one of my favorite types of animals. Haha, I'm substituting orchids for all the pets I tell my self I can't afford.
Yeah vet bills are a pain.
Wait... Monkies?

We once made the mistake of getting a squirrel monkey many years ago. When I realized how unhappy he was without other monkeys [he kept trying to hump the dog and cat] we found him a new home in a zoo that had a large new facility for squirrel monkeys. He had lots of new friends there.
We also had an amazon parrot for several years.
The parrotlet is a wonderful bird! He is 12 years old and the sweetest little thing! He talks and imitates various noises.

Wow, that's different. It's great that you found a home fond him in a zoo, though!
Amazons are great too! Was he/she as good a talker as I hear they are? When I was three or four my uncle had an amazon and he could say about twenty phrases perfectly clearly.

My amazon was a really good talker. I got her strait out of an incubator and hand fed her. I was with her most of the time and she learn language like a small child does. She used works in context. Once when my husband called her 'chicken legs', she said "wise guy, eh?'

I love birds but have never had one. They can be so funny..."wise guy" to funny. My one dog would eat it so that would be a no go for us.

it's probably just as well that you don't get a parrot. Many people don't realize that it is like adopting a very noisy child. they can drive you crazy. but they make you laugh every day.

When I was a little girl, we had over 40 chickens. Occasionally my dad would kill one for dinner. Except friendly. I named her friendly because I could hold her. She was the sweetest thing. There was another one I named darer. because she would dare you to get near her. I miss fresh eggs.
