I'm so sorry for your friend, I would would be very mad at my cats if they destroyed that many orchids! Luckily, my cats were raised with a Mastiff and Great Dane and are sometimes more like dogs then my dogs!! Lol!!

It seems to be a common problem with cats. Our neighbour nursed her paph for 2 years and finally got it in to bloom. Her cat completely destroyed the flower. Luckily the pant is ok.

An acquaintance of mine had a cat, Miranda. She would systematically eat or push off the shelf any plant that competed for attention.
