Yes Scout was in the dryer! I had just taken a load of clothes out and was going to put another in so left the door open. She decided it was a nice warm place to take a nap and was quite put out that I removed her from such and obviously perfect spot.

So I went to go look at the other kittens today. The lady was very nice, but in over her head and has something like 18 cats living in and out of her house. And...what fun, they all have fleas! She gave baby kitten a flea bath before I left with her, but that didn't do much. I dusted her with diatomaceous earth to kill the fleas and used a topical on her, which I really hate doing. I've already spotted dead and dying fleas on my bathroom floor. Prior to today, I'd never seen a flea in my life. I didn't have a safe place to put Trixie and separate her, so they are together and I put the topical on Trixie too. Hopefully I can knock these fleas out QUICKLY and none of them make it out of the bathroom and too the dogs. That would be REALLY bad. I don't get how people can knowingly have animals with fleas in their homes.
By the way, she's a sweet kitty, despite the fleas. Named her Stormy.

Oh, I am sooo jealous!!! Nothing is better than baby kitties! How is the flea situation going? If you are too worried about your dogs getting them than maybe you should think about getting some Advantage or Frontline. I have used that and it works great! It kills them before they start getting on the carpet. Vaccuming is a great way to get them too. Just be sure to dispose of the bag after, or seal it up until you use it again. Be careful using flea stuff on the babies cuz they should be at least 12 weeks old before you can use some of it. Of course they do make fllea meds that are safe as well. I had to go through the gross flea thing last summer so I am full of tips and tricks. Hope some of that helps and good luck!

I don't want to jinx myself and say that the fleas are gone, but I think we are on a good path. Bennie the dog is itching, but there's nothing on him. I think he might be having a reaction to a spray that I bought that was supposed to be all natural. I washed him with flea shampoo tonight, which I really hate doing because I'm big on natural care, like no pesticides, no further vaccinations and raw feeding. I don't use topicals like Frontline and Advantage anymore because they have too many harmful side effects. If you read the label, it's not safe to get it on your hands, so it's scary to think you are putting that on your pet. I stopped with topicals like that 2 years ago after my pitbull became diabetic and I started researching all this stuff that would be further taxing on her immune system. I have been vacuuming and reapplying diatomaceous earth & salt on the carpet right outside the bathroom door in case some of the critters try to escape. I haven't noticed any fleas though since Saturday night and the ones I saw then were either dead or appeared to be dying. My biggest concern now is breaking the cycle and preventing any eggs that may have dropped off of Stormy from hatching. Everything, including the shampoo, says 12 weeks and up, but a friend in rescue said she uses it on kittens all the time. I did give them both a bath today and noticed nothing coming off of Stormy, so I'm hopeful. Will keep you posted!

I am so excited to see Stormy get a new home!
Happy the deflea-ing is going well. Pretty sure you'll have to treat again when the eggs hatch. . .but sounds like you've got them on the run.
Hope all are getting along alright! We just have the two kittens, they love each other but are still a handful! lol
You know, we're gonna have to have pic updates every now and again.

I'll definitely take some pics soon. Just combed Stormy tonight and found a flea that was so dried up from the D.E. it broke into pieces on the comb. I bleached down the bathroom tonight, hoping that may take care of some eggs. I think panic mode is over. But yes, I am preparing for the what ifs with the eggs and vacuuming the carpet in front of the bathroom, as well as continuing to reapply the D.E. inside the bathroom doorway and outside. Read that doesn't kill the eggs, but it will kill the larvae as soon as they hatch. Found a really good site on it this evening.

I forgot how jumpy and scratchy kittens are. These girls get jealous if I'm playing with the other and start climbing up my legs. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

Gorgeous Kitties, Sasha looks a little to sleepy for a photo shoot.
