Get yourself a bunch of neons instead. They're really pretty (I think they are) and they are a schooling fish so you'll have silver, red and blue flashing across your tank. I had a 10 gallon fresh water for years and I even raised cyclids in it. The key is regular water changes and filter cleaning. Keep in mind you will be reseasoning a tank and that can take some time. There will be some mortality until the good bacteria establish themselves so buy cheap fish with that in mind.

I had two large marbled angelfish, a discus, about 10 neons, a plecostomus, some tetras, and I can't remember what else all at the same time.

Years later I had a 50 gal salt set up. Man was that a bunch of work. Weekly water changes, mid week tank scrubs. Expensive fish that would turn their fins up and die at the drop of a hat. That was a hobby we sank a lot of money into and all it did was stress me out! LOL Now when I want to see salt water lovelies I pack my bag fly to Hawaii or the Caribbean don my snorkel & mask and visit them at home.

I saw some other fish that I want. When I get to the store I will decide then. I don't want anything really agressive. I don't want to deal with it.

I agree with Terri, I have been there and done that. Many dollars later. But don't let that scare you you will get a ton of enjoyment out of your SMALL freash water tank no matter what type of fish you decide on.

Neon's are a little silver fish with red and blue stripes down their sides as Terri said they are a schooling fish if you get 10 they will all stay together as a group. Your right about the aggressive ones either you get just them or just passive ones never together

Neon Tetra - Paracheirodon innesi

They are a small brightly colored tetra. Very docile, easy to please, and fun to watch.

I've wanted a salt water tank, but I knew it would take A LOT more work and time, something I don't have. So, I will go to the museum and enjoy them there. IF I decide on a salt water tank, it will be YEARS from now.
Oh, those fish. Yes, I might get some.

Yea see if you can handle a fresh water tank first. Then I still wouldn't get one.
