Wink Bird Whacker for Dave

Here's 'Bird Whacker'. Her real name is Nellie. But we usually just call her bird. Real imaginative, huh? She has several hobbies and they aren't all good.

Glad to hear Simon is doing better. My Vet informed me about that years ago so Chico only gets around 4 sunflowers seeds a day or 2 raw cashews both are his favorites. I wish he would eat veggies He act's like Iam trying to Poisson him

Bird's eating habits are the pits! She also loves sunflower seeds and black oil seeds. Meat is her all time favorite, any kind of meat. Next is biscuits and cookies.

Coffee with cream and sugar and iced tea are her drinks of choice. She would eat cigarettes all day but of course I don't let her.

I make a corn meal based bread with all kinds of nuts, seeds and greens in it. Freeze it after cutting and then I can thaw and feed her a square everyday along with commercial parrot food.

And Dorito's make her ! She's a mess but the vet says she's in top condition

Here she is reading the paper. She thinks my son is her chick and loves lounging in his cap.

That photo is the sweetest! Too cute!
What is her vocal range like?
My sister had a rooster as a pet when she was a kid .. it use to chase the mailman - everyone made fun of him for running away from a chicken ..
I use to sit it in my lap and hypnotize him
We use to call him Bird .. it was Peep when he was a chick.
Oh the memories ..

She can say just about anything she wants to say. She talks in either my voice or my husbands. She rings like the house phone or any number of cell ring tones and then proceeds to be the talker and the caller making her voice sound like it's coming through the phone.

She calls the cats by name and drives them nuts. She also has lots of indigestion and gas! Usually more so when we have company in the house.

I also had a chicken as a pet when I was a kid. A hen named Ba-Chick! Yes, the memories are so sweet!

Do you think you might hypnotize Bird not to be so gassy?

I have never heard of feathered farts before!
You can always give hypnotism a try
I would do the elimination test - take away one food item for a week and see how her body responds. It could be the meat.

Simon has us trained, someone has to be in the kitchen at supper time or he will nag you until you are , go out to eat better bring something home for him .
He has a bad sweet tooth give him a small piece of cookie and he takes the top off and eats the filling , eats , wants what ever you are eating , I have to sneak stuff .
