Yup, I'm a PhD student in Entomology, studying plant-insect-pathogen interactions. I play around with aphids and caterpillars and butterflies, and also the beneficial insects that go with them (little wasps that lay eggs inside the caterpillars for instance). Last year, before starting my PhD, I was working with african mosquitoes for 6 months, and among other things it involved having to feed them (ie, stick my arm in a cage of 500 mozzies...)
It's funny, because as an orchid grower I do whatever I can to keep pests off my orchids, but at work it's the end of the world if one of the insect colonies is doing badly.
