Well the mystery is at an end. My Latrodectus bishopi has revealed itself to be a male. Now I just have to find him a girlfriend.

Sorry, Paul, I don't squish them anymore as the fear left me a lo-o-o-ng time ago. Live and let live, I actually treat them like moths and catch and release outside.

I love seeing spiders in the garden. This time of year we have some big ones around (well big by UK standards which is small compared to the rest of the world

Spiders are cool. If I had gone into animals rather than plants, and not done Amphibians I would have studied spiders.
