Default Keeping an Eye on Mom

This is my Pembroke Corgi, BooBoo. Over the years I've captured several photos of him watching me from behind the storm door as I tend to my plants.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments. That big cattleya is 'Big Momma' and she's a noid.

BooBoo doesn't care much about my plants but he does have a major fascination with water. He keeps an eye on me when I'm outdoors because he's anticipating that I'll be turning on the water hose. He begins barking as soon as he hears me turn on the outdoor faucet. When I spray my plants he barks frantically and acts like a spastic nut. My back yard is fenced and when I'm out there watering he insists on chasing the water from the hose. If I spray patterns in the yard he'll chase the stream of water. He'll keep chasing it until he's exhausted. If he's outdoors when the sprinklers pop up he tries to attack them.

I don't know why he behaves this way. He came to live with me when he was 9 months old and he's acted like this since I got him. His previous owners kept him caged all the time and as a result he came to me with a lot of emotional issues. He's overcome most of them, but he still does the 'water thing' and he won't let anyone approach him with a hair brush. The only time he submits to being brushed is when he's having his bath, and even then he makes it clear that he doesn't like it at all. I've wondered if his other owner struck him with a brush. I have another Corgi and she loves to be brushed and she avoids water like the plague.

Corgis were originally bred to herd sheep. They're bossy, calculating, and very smart. They have great memories and as individuals they have their own distinctive personalities. I love my babies.

Oh LOL, that's funny with the water!! At least it's a very easy way for him to get exercise, all you have to do is play with the hose

Maybe he justs likes water? Seems like there are a lot of dogs that chaase water. Back when I lived in VA one of our neighbors had a dog like that, and inside she would even follow a laser beam on the floor.
