RIP Persephone
After a long battle my little Shih Tzu Pomeranian passed away early this morning. For months now she has been fighting for her life and we lost the battle. The only thing that gives us peace is the fact that she does not have to suffer anymore. It's been a hard day for my family, and a hard day for her sister Aurora who has never spent any time apart from Percy.

So very sorry to hear of your loss. The loss of a pet can be just as traumatic of that of a friend. Snuggle Aurora and remember all the good times you have had.

Thank you everyone for your caring words... It really means a lot. I know there are a ton of animal lovers here... One of the many reasons I love this forum. Thanks again.

I am so very sorry for your loss! It'll be hard for her sister for a long time. Animals love their siblings and how can you explain the loss to them? Give her all extra love you can. And be kind to yourself.

So sorry to hear about your loss. Their lives are really so very short compared to ours. I'm thankful for every day I have with mine. I've lost 2 over the years already. After one of my Shih-tzus passed, the other one was never quite the same. A few years later, I had to put her down due to complications of a chronic illness. We think it's hard for us but it's probably even harder for the surviving dog, especially if they've been with each other almost all their lives. Remember all those happy years you had with her. Eventually, things will feel "ok" again.
